Omnimo Nikiski Desktop by fediaFedia Omnimo Nikiski Desktop by fediaFedia
So... after seeing this: [link] [link] I decided to recreate that same desktop in Omnimo.

Which is funny, because that IS Omnimo on a Intel's CES presentation of the Nikiski laptop\tablet. To be specific - Omnimo 1 or 2 (judging from the cut off text on the panels).

Not sure if this was Photoshopped or anything, but I managed to find these images on several news websites. Other images show it using actual Windows 8. Just wondering if Intel actually used this at CES (couldn't find any videos).

Anyway, wouldn't be the first time. Remember how Microsoft used portions of the omnimo gallery on their website? :D [link]

"INTEL RIPS OFF fediafedia Designs" - Story @ 11:00!
So if SOPA or PIPA was in effect, does that mean you could shut down Intel?
(Or at least send a cease / desist order)

To be fair, Microsoft would have shut me down years ago :)

They say that they developed the interface before Windows 8 was even announced (sounds like BS), but they are using Windows 7 for all their Nikisko devices.

Also, I saw a video of them scrolling and flicking through the tiles, so I do not think Omnimo was used.
Or maybe it was, but only before they actually gave people the chance to touch it.

The tiles on the computer he's holding are definitely copied from Omnimo. We ought to know, we designed them...

I do agree with you, that for this screenshot, Omnimo was used.

But at CES 2012, the design was different (uglier), but the tiles were scrollable.

If you look carefully you will see that the BLACK version being show uses Omnimo
And the white version being shown is using windows 8!

That laptop looks exactly the one at CES but I swear it's a different company...

And yea it's Windows 7, but they don't say how they get the tiles to work, I don't think it's Omnimo though, I think they probably coded it in.

It's definitely from Intel. That guy who's holding it has been on all of the presentations.

And yeah it's 100% Omnimo. They didn't code it, they just used a static image there, like Xyrfo said, some lazy designer did it. They have a Windows 8 version now tho.

If you look at the dates the images are from you see they are actually from the concept design revealed like two days after the W8 UI was shown in June... So probably a lazy designer just googled windows 8 for the mockup and got images of Omnimo instead.

So.. did the designers mess up at Intel, or was it some random photoshop for a news website?
