XP to Longhorn and Vista to longhorn customization started to be popular. Unlike vista customization which is slowing down. No wonder. People who like vista's looks just get vista, can't say that about longhorn - who'd want a unstable alpha build of longhorn as their every day OS? But many like longhorn looks so they customize! And since Longhorn is between XP and Vista, both OSes can have almost equal longhorn customization possibilities. Only that vista has Glass which isn't quite available for XP, but XP has more 3rd party programs like styler which deliver a better explorer look.
Recently there was started a sidebar project called "Karl's sidebar" - it's really promising, almost same as longhorn's and available for vista too! Currently it's in Beta 2 stages, but it works great on my XP and Vista, only minor bugs.

Back to my desktop screenshot - I really started to like slate athens, since it looks better then plex and slate, but real glass looks obviously much better. But still slate delivers a longhorn feeling when combined with other elements. Thanks to doom1468 for kinda inspiring me to make the styler toolbar and wmp skin, both can be found in my gallery. The visual style is slightly modified Jadaero Longhorn Express by Flahron. And the wallpaper can be found here: [link]
